No data collection by us
We do not receive, sell, or share data from this extension. There is no developer account, analytics, remote error reporting, advertising in the interface, or paid tier. All features are free.
Filtering happens in your browser
The browser checks web requests against filter rules. The extension uses website access to hide page elements, run the element picker, and apply the page controls you enable. It does not send browsing history, page content, or blocked-request details to us.
Your preferences, site exceptions, custom filters, selected subscriptions, saved element rules, and custom images are stored in this browser. There is no developer-hosted synchronization service.
Current tab and frame addresses and per-tab counters are kept in browser session storage to apply filtering and site exceptions. They are removed when tabs close or the browser session ends. Aggregate blocking and image-replacement totals are stored locally even when statistics history is off.
Filter-list updates contact their providers
The extension includes bundled filter data. After you enable the extension, subscribed lists can also be updated automatically or when you choose Update lists now. You can disable automatic updates.
Each provider receives an ordinary request for its filter file, including your network address and the request time. The extension does not include your browsing history, visited page addresses, statistics, or saved rules in that request. Custom subscriptions contact the HTTPS address you choose. Providers handle these requests under their own policies.
Extension scripts and accepted page-script instruction presets are bundled. Downloaded lists cannot introduce new scriptlet arguments, command groups, or domain scopes. New page-script instructions require an extension update. Network and cosmetic rules can still be updated separately.
Optional local statistics and diagnostics
Page counters use request observations available from the browser. Keeping a statistics history is a separate option and is off by default. When enabled, it stores blocking totals, dates, website names, and image replacement counts locally. You can stop future collection or delete the stored statistics in Settings.
The optional developer-tools panel can display request addresses, resource types, matching rules, and list sources for the inspected tab. Debug logging is also optional and stays local. Request addresses can contain private information, so review any information you choose to share.
When developer tools or debug logging is enabled, up to 2,000 recent request records are kept in the extension's working memory. They are not uploaded.
The default diagnostic download omits browsing addresses, saved rules, and custom images. An issue report includes the text you enter and, if supplied, the website hostname. Reports and diagnostics are downloaded locally; the extension does not submit them.
If you choose Check for other blockers, the browser asks for optional permission to inspect installed extensions. Matching extension names are shown locally. They are not sent to us or included in diagnostic downloads. No other extension is disabled or changed.
Your images
Custom images are decoded, cropped, and re-encoded locally before they are saved. The saved copy does not preserve the source file's metadata or filename. No custom image is uploaded to us.
If you enable image replacement, your selected images are inserted into websites. Those websites can read images placed in their pages. Use pictures you are comfortable making visible to the sites you visit.
Page controls and cookie choices
Optional controls can hide matching cookie banners and other distractions, limit autoplay and notifications, or replace eligible ad spaces with images. Hiding a cookie banner does not accept or reject cookies and does not change a website's stored consent choices.
Backups and external links
Exporting settings creates a JSON file on your device. It can include saved website addresses, custom rules, subscription addresses, and custom images. Importing reads that file locally and replaces your current settings. Keep backups private if they contain information you do not want others to see.
This privacy page is bundled with the extension. Optional donation, filter-source, and review links open external websites under their own policies only when you choose them. Reviews are voluntary. The review page provides support and links to the Chrome Web Store after publication.
Your controls
You can pause filtering globally or for a website, choose individual features and lists, and remove saved rules. Reset restores default preferences and removes custom settings. Statistics have a separate delete control. Uninstalling removes the extension's browser storage. Files you exported remain where you saved them.
Limited use
Information obtained through browser APIs is used only for the features described here. Our use complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Limits
This is a blocking tool, not an anonymity service. Websites, your browser, filter providers, and your network provider operate independently of this extension. Blocking can miss content or affect useful page features. Pause the affected website and reload it when needed.
