Image Tools privacy
Applies to Free High Quality Image Tools 1.0.0. Effective September 17, 2026.
Your images stay on your device
Image Tools reads only image files you select or drop into its workspace. It processes their pixels, dimensions, formats, filenames, and sizes locally to crop, rotate, resize, compress, preview, and export images. Files and results stay in the workspace tab's memory until you remove them, clear the workspace, or close the tab. They are not uploaded or saved to extension storage.
Storage and permissions
The storage permission remembers only whether you have dismissed the first-use welcome, in this browser profile's local extension storage. It does not use browser sync. The extension does not request access to webpages, browsing history, cookies, cameras, microphones, or other files. Opening the toolbar action creates its own workspace tab.
Exports and your controls
Exports create new images or a ZIP download; original files are never modified. Exported filenames are based on the names of the files you selected. Re-encoding creates a new image rather than copying source metadata. The browser may add technical format, color, or resolution fields of its own. Visible image content and filenames can still identify people or reveal private information. This is not an anonymization or redaction tool. Review files before sharing them.
Downloaded files remain wherever you save them until you delete them. Clear the workspace or close its tab to release the extension's working files. Uninstalling removes the saved welcome choice, but does not delete downloads.
No collection, sale, or tracking
The developer receives no images, filenames, edits, or personal information from the extension. There are no accounts, advertisements, analytics, trackers, remote executable code, or automatic website requests. Every feature is free. Browser API data is used only for the functions disclosed here, consistent with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements. No user data is sold, used for advertising, or used for lending or credit decisions.
Optional links and support
Project, support, store, and donation links open only when you choose them. Visiting another website makes ordinary requests governed by that site's policies; images are never attached. See the website privacy policy.
You may email tokens@betterextensions.org. The email service processes your message, and the recipient can read what you send. Messages are used to respond to your request. Avoid sending private images or other confidential information. Material changes to this policy will be included with an extension update.
