Link Cleaner privacy

Links are processed locally. The extension does not visit them, contact a shortening service, save a link history, or send links to Better Extensions.
The links you choose
The extension processes an address you paste, the current page address when you invoke its toolbar action, or a link you explicitly select through its right-click menu. The address may contain query parameters, fragments, sign-in information, or other private data. Processing happens in the extension. Website contents, cookies, and clipboard contents are not read.
Storage and lifetime
The first-use acknowledgement is saved in local extension storage. A toolbar or right-click selection passes through browser session storage using a random token, rather than placing the selected address in the extension page's URL. Up to ten incoming drafts are retained with ten-minute validity; a draft is removed when the workspace consumes it. Expired drafts cannot be opened and are cleaned up as later drafts are created. Browser restart clears this session storage. The open workspace holds its current input and preview in memory; Clear removes them from that page.
Local cleaning and redirect wrappers
Recognized tracking parameters can be removed in the preview. Unknown parameters and fragments are preserved. Recognized sign-in or signature parameters cause the link to stay unchanged. Supported redirect wrappers are decoded locally only when you choose Unwrap. Neither operation fetches the destination or verifies that it exists. Opaque short links and arbitrary server redirects are not resolved.
Permissions
activeTab provides the selected page's address after you invoke the toolbar. contextMenus adds the explicit link-preview command to the browser's menu. storage keeps the first-use acknowledgement and temporary incoming drafts. No persistent website access or page-injection permission is requested.
Copying and your controls
Copy clean link writes the displayed preview to the clipboard only after you select the button. The extension does not read the clipboard or change links on webpages. Clear removes the current input and preview. Uninstalling clears extension storage. Text already copied or shared remains wherever you put it.
Developer data use
There are no analytics, advertising identifiers, paid tiers, data sales, remote code, or developer uploads. Browser API data is used only for the link-cleaning functions described here, consistent with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements. It is not used for advertising, lending, or credit decisions. Optional help, review, and donation links contact their destinations only when you select them.
