Applies to Free High Quality Sound Booster version 1.0.0.
Your audio stays on your device
The extension captures and processes the sound of a tab only after you choose Start boosting. Audio passes through a local equalizer, volume control, and optional limiter to your audio output. It is never recorded, saved, uploaded, or sent to the developer. Processing continues when the popup closes and ends when you stop it, navigate the tab, close the tab, or close the browser.
Local preferences
The extension stores your first-use choice and, if you select Remember settings, the website hostname and its volume/equalizer preferences in this browser profile. It reads the current tab's address after the welcome to display its hostname and find those preferences. It does not keep a browsing-history log. You can erase saved hostnames using Forget saved site settings. Uninstalling removes extension settings.
Permissions
activeTab grants temporary access to the tab where you invoke the toolbar button. tabCapture obtains that tab's audio with your action. offscreen keeps local audio processing running after the popup closes. storage saves the welcome choice and settings. No microphone, camera, persistent all-site access, or external service is required.
No data collection
The developer receives no audio, browsing data, preferences, or personal information from this extension. There are no analytics, ads, trackers, accounts, subscriptions, or remote executable code. All features are free. Browser API data is used solely for the audio controls described here, consistent with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements.
Optional external links
The donation link is entirely optional and is never opened automatically. Visiting betterextensions.org or the Chrome Web Store is separate from local audio processing and is governed by those services' policies. If you voluntarily email tokens@betterextensions.org, the email service processes the message and the recipient can read what you send.
