Website privacy

This policy covers visits to betterextensions.org, including downloads and the optional donation placeholder. Each extension has its own policy below.

The website and your extensions

This is a public information and download website for free browser extensions. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, contact forms, embedded social content, or website scripts. Its code does not set tracking cookies or store visitor preferences. Normal browser caching and downloaded files may remain on your device.

The website cannot read the extensions’ local screenshots, documents, recordings, snippets, saved tabs, highlights, block lists, preferences, or extension storage. The extensions do not automatically send that content to this website. Their optional links open only when you choose them.

Information needed to deliver the website

Your browser makes an ordinary web request when you visit a page or download a file. The request includes connection information, such as an IP address, the requested address, and browser headers. Cloudflare, the origin server, and hosting and network providers process request information to deliver and protect the service.

Use HTTPS and avoid placing personal information in page addresses or query strings.

Operational logs

Routine origin access logging is disabled for this website. Origin error logs may contain connection information, request paths, timestamps, and technical error details for failed or unusual requests. They are used for operating and protecting the service, not advertising or visitor profiling.

Origin error logs are configured to rotate daily with fourteen rotated copies retained. This is a rotation schedule, not a guarantee of deletion at an exact age. Cloudflare and hosting or network providers may maintain separate operational records under their own practices.

Cloudflare delivery and security

Cloudflare may use security cookies or browser challenges when protecting the site. These are separate from the website code. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and cookie documentation.

Downloads, email, and external links

Downloading a ZIP creates an ordinary request to this website. The installed extension then processes data as described in its product policy. Files you download or export stay wherever your browser saves them until you remove them.

If you email tokens@betterextensions.org, we receive your address, message, and any attachments you choose to send through email providers. That information is used to respond to the request and manage support correspondence. Do not send private documents, recordings, passwords, or browsing data. There is no web contact form or automatic attachment of extension data.

Chrome Web Store, GitHub, and other external links lead to separate services with their own policies. This website does not embed their content and instructs browsers not to send a referrer when following links.

The optional donation placeholder

The donation page is a placeholder. Donations are not set up, there is no payment form or payment provider integration, and no financial information is requested. Visiting it makes the same ordinary website request as any other page. Every extension feature remains free whether or not donations become available.

Your choices

You can use the website without registering. Browser settings let you manage cookies and cached files; disabling security cookies may affect a browser challenge. Downloaded files can be removed using your operating system. Extension policies and the support page explain local data controls.

Changes to website data practices will be posted here with an updated effective date.
